Terms (Draft)
Pre-incorporation · Draft · Illustrative only
DDDIMO Lda. is in formation. The terms below describe the planned community marketplace and become binding only when both (a) DDDIMO Lda. is incorporated and (b) the marketplace platform itself launches. Until then, this document is a public draft so creators and members can see how we plan to operate. Nothing here creates a contractual obligation today.
DDDIMO is a community marketplace for 3D printing, built on top of the Cobuntu community platform. One community surface — discussions, marketplace, on-demand prints, events — all in one place.
1. What DDDIMO is
DDDIMO is a community marketplace where creators publish 3D models (digital downloads), buyers order printed objects (print orders) fulfilled by partner workshops, and the community runs ticketed events. It runs as a community on the Cobuntu platform — meaning Cobuntu provides the underlying account, billing, and moderation infrastructure, and DDDIMO is responsible for the community-specific rules and economics described below.
2. Tiers and commissions
DDDIMO offers three membership tiers. Current planned rates (subject to change before launch; binding only post-incorporation):
| Tier | Subscription | Digital downloads | Print orders | Event tickets |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | €0 | 18% | 10% | 12% |
| Studio | €29 / mo (founding: €19) | 8% | 4% | 6% |
| Pro | €99 / mo | 4% | 2% | 3% |
Post-launch, commission rates can be changed with at least 30 days written notice to all affected members, except where the founding rate (§3) overrides this.
3. Founding rate
The first 1,000 paid Studio members are eligible for the founding rate of €19 per month, locked for 5 years from their first paid month, or until DDDIMO reaches €5,000,000 in annual gross merchandise value (GMV) — whichever happens first.
The founding rate is conditioned on:
- The subscription being paid on time. Failed payments not cured within 14 days forfeit the founding rate; the account reverts to standard €29/mo if reactivated later.
- The account remaining in good standing under §5 (community conduct).
- Continuous Studio-tier subscription. Downgrading to Free and re-upgrading later forfeits the founding rate.
The 8% / 4% / 6% commission rates for Studio tier remain unchanged for founding members — the founding deal is on the subscription price, not the commissions. Pro tier (€99/mo) has no founding-rate offer and stays at standard pricing for everyone.
4. Cobuntu platform layer
DDDIMO runs on Cobuntu. By using DDDIMO once the platform launches, you will agree to both (a) Cobuntu's platform Terms of Service (which govern your account, login, billing, account termination, and platform-wide moderation), and (b) these DDDIMO community terms (which govern marketplace conduct, IP rules, commissions, and the founding-rate offer).
Where the two layers conflict: Cobuntu's terms govern account-level matters; DDDIMO's community terms govern marketplace conduct and economics. Cobuntu's master policies will be linked here once published.
5. Marketplace conduct
- Original work or properly licensed. Don't upload designs you don't own and don't have permission to sell. We will respect takedown notices under the DMCA process (to be published).
- Disclose AI-generated content. If a model was generated or substantially assisted by AI tools, mark it as such in the listing.
- Attribution. If your work is a derivative or remix of someone else's, credit them clearly in the listing description. Some upstream licences (e.g. CC-BY) require this; we enforce it as a baseline.
- No off-platform circumvention. Don't ask buyers met through DDDIMO to pay you outside DDDIMO. The commission is what pays for the platform you're using to find them.
- No prohibited content. No weapons designed for serious harm, no sexually explicit content involving minors, no items illegal to manufacture or sell in your or the buyer's jurisdiction.
6. Refunds and payouts
Digital downloads are generally non-refundable once delivered, except where the file is materially defective or misrepresented. Print orders are eligible for a 14-day right of withdrawal under EU consumer law, except where the product is bespoke and made-to-order (which most prints are). Specific refund terms per product type will be published with full launch.
Creator payouts are processed through the Cobuntu / Stripe Connect infrastructure. Payout schedule, minimum thresholds, and supported countries follow Cobuntu's platform rules.
7. Termination
You can stop using DDDIMO at any time by closing your account via the Cobuntu account settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially violate §5 (community conduct), with notice where possible. Repeat IP infringers will be terminated under the DMCA repeat-infringer policy. Forfeited founding-rate eligibility cannot be reinstated.
8. Disclaimers and liability
DDDIMO is provided "as is" and "as available" once launched. We make no warranty that the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim related to DDDIMO is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. EU consumer rights that cannot be waived by contract remain unaffected.
9. Governing law
These terms are intended to be governed by the laws of Portugal, with disputes subject to the courts of Lisbon, once DDDIMO Lda. is incorporated. EU consumer-protection rights applicable to consumers in their place of residence are preserved.
10. Changes
This draft will evolve. Material changes that affect existing members will be communicated by email with at least 30 days notice once the platform is live. Until then, treat this document as a public statement of intent rather than a binding contract.
